        Helena's own Jay Scott

Helena's most recognized news and sports "voice," Jay Scott,  has joined forces with KGRT-DB digital radio, and will begin reporting news on March 1

For 20 years, Jay Scott has reported news to Helena, and to Montana. A winner of 18  Montana Association of Broadcasters "E.B. Craney" awards for news and sports, Jay's work has won praise in various forums by Governors Marc Racicot, Judy Martz, Brian Schweitzer and Steve Bullock for its accuracy and fairness. His news broadcasts on KBLL-AM were rated number one in the Helena market for over a decade, and he was the first Montana broadcaster to stream news and sports to the rest of the State.

His broadcasts of football, basketball and baseball were among the most popular high school sports streams in the US, and he has won several national awards for his play-by-play reporting.

Some of Jay's career highlights include stints with the Chicago Black Hawks, White Sox, Bears and Bulls, and work for Northwestern, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Purdue Universities. He also anchored NBC Radio "News on the Hour," and has contributed to the BBC, as well as CBS, CNN, and ABC Radio.

In his spare time, Jay is a sports official, working professional, college, and high school football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and hockey. He has worked high school state championship games and tournaments in several states, including Montana, and he helped write the National High School Federation designated hitter rules in baseball and softball.

Jay will bring unbiased and "family friendly" news to KGRT-DB listeners, beginning March 1.
